  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 6 cups chicken broth
  • 2 cups okra, sliced
  • 2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Cooked white rice for serving

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add flour and stir constantly to make a roux, cooking until it is dark brown.
  3. Add onion, bell pepper, celery, and garlic. Cook until softened.
  4. Add sausage and chicken, cooking until browned.
  5. Stir in broth, okra, Cajun seasoning, bay leaves, and Worcestershire sauce.
  6. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 45 minutes.
  7. Add shrimp and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  8. Remove bay leaves and serve over rice.
