Description

Bavarian cream custard is a rich and creamy dessert made with eggs, cream, and flavored with vanilla.


Ingrédients

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 large egg yolks
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon gelatin
  • 3 tablespoons cold water

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine milk, sugar, and half of the cream. Heat until warm.
  2. In a bowl, whisk egg yolks. Gradually add warm milk mixture to yolks, whisking constantly.
  3. Return mixture to saucepan and cook over low heat until thickened.
  4. Dissolve gelatin in cold water and add to the custard mixture.
  5. Stir in vanilla extract.
  6. Let the mixture cool, then fold in the remaining whipped cream.
  7. Pour into molds and refrigerate until set.
  8. Serve chilled.

Notes

  • Make sure the gelatin is fully dissolved.
  • Use high-quality vanilla for better flavor.
  • Chill the custard for at least 4 hours before serving.
