Beef and Broccoli Stir-Fry is a classic dish that combines tender beef with crunchy broccoli in a savory sauce, making it a quick and delicious meal.
Ingrédients
- Beef Sirloin: 500 grams, thinly sliced against the grain.
- Broccoli Florets: 300 grams.
- Soy Sauce: 4 tablespoons.
- Garlic: 3 cloves, minced.
- Ginger: 1 tablespoon, minced or grated.
- Sesame Oil: 2 tablespoons.
- Cornstarch: 2 tablespoons.
- Green Onions: 2, chopped.
- Rice: 2 cups, for serving.
- Salt and Pepper: to taste.
- Water: 1/4 cup, for steaming the broccoli.
Instructions
- Rinse 2 cups of rice under cold water, then add to a pot with 4 cups of water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 15-20 minutes.
- In a bowl, combine the sliced beef with 2 tablespoons of soy sauce and 1 tablespoon of cornstarch. Marinate for 15 minutes.
- Bring 1/4 cup of water to a boil in a pot, add broccoli florets, cover, and steam for 2-3 minutes.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of sesame oil in a skillet over medium-high heat, add marinated beef, and cook for 2-3 minutes until browned.
- Add the remaining tablespoon of sesame oil, minced garlic, and ginger to the skillet and sauté for 30 seconds.
- Return the cooked beef and blanched broccoli to the skillet, add 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
- Mix the remaining tablespoon of cornstarch with a splash of water to create a slurry, pour into the skillet, and cook for another minute until the sauce thickens.
- Remove from heat, garnish with chopped green onions, and serve over the prepared rice.
Notes
- For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes.
- For a sweeter taste, add a dash of honey.
- Consider using frozen broccoli if fresh is not available.
