Description
Traditional Christmas cookies with spices and icing.
Ingrédients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- Royal icing for decoration
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg.
- In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and mix well.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until combined.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface to 1/4 inch thick.
- Cut out shapes using cookie cutters.
- Place cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
- Let cookies cool before decorating with royal icing.

- Store cookies in an airtight container.
- You can use different spices for variation.
