- 1 can of refrigerated biscuits
- 1 pound of breakfast sausage
- 2 cups of milk
- 1/4 cup of all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
- 1 cup of shredded cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Brown the sausage in a skillet over medium heat.
- Remove the sausage and drain excess fat.
- In the same skillet, whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute.
- Add milk gradually while stirring to avoid lumps.
- Season with salt and pepper, cook until thickened.
- Cut biscuits into quarters and layer them in a greased casserole dish.
- Add the cooked sausage on top of the biscuits.
- Pour the gravy over the biscuits and sausage.
- Add cheese on top if desired.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until biscuits are golden brown.
Notes
- Use your favorite sausage for different flavors.
- Top with green onions for garnish.
- This dish is best served warm.
