Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm milk and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt.
  3. Add eggs and melted butter to the yeast mixture.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients. Knead the dough until smooth.
  5. Let the dough rise for 1 hour in a warm place.
  6. Punch down the dough and shape it into balls.
  7. Let the balls rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. Heat oil in a pot for frying.
  9. Fry the donuts until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  10. Drain on paper towels and fill with your choice of filling.
  11. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
