Description
Braised lamb shanks cooked until tender.
Ingrédients

- 2 lamb shanks
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 carrots, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup red wine
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 teaspoon thyme
- 1 teaspoon rosemary
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
- Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
- Brown the lamb shanks on all sides.
- Remove shanks and add onion, carrots, and garlic. Cook until softened.
- Pour in the red wine and scrape up any brown bits.
- Add beef broth, thyme, rosemary, salt, and pepper.
- Return shanks to the pot, cover, and transfer to the oven.
- Braise for 2 to 3 hours, until meat is tender.
- Remove shanks and let rest before serving.
Notes
- Serve with mashed potatoes or polenta.
- Leftovers can be stored for up to 3 days in the refrigerator.
