A simple brine recipe for turkey to enhance flavor and moisture for Thanksgiving.
Ingrédients

- 1 cup kosher salt
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 gallon water
- 1 tablespoon black peppercorns
- 1 tablespoon allspice berries
- 1 tablespoon thyme
- 1 lemon, sliced
Instructions
- In a large pot, combine water, salt, and sugar. Heat until dissolved.
- Add spices and lemon slices to the pot.
- Remove from heat and let the brine cool completely.
- Submerge the turkey in the brine solution.
- Refrigerate for 12 to 24 hours.
- Remove turkey from brine and rinse under cold water.
- Pat dry and prepare for cooking.
Notes
- Use a large enough container to hold the turkey and brine.
- Store brining turkey in the refrigerator.
- Do not brine for more than 24 hours to avoid overly salty meat.
