A simple recipe for traditional British flapjacks.

- 200g rolled oats
- 100g unsalted butter
- 100g brown sugar
- 4 tablespoons golden syrup
- 50g dried fruit (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Grease a baking dish.
- Melt the butter, sugar, and syrup together in a saucepan.
- Stir in the oats and mix well.
- Add dried fruit if using.
- Press the mixture into the baking dish.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden.
- Allow to cool before cutting into squares.
Notes
- Store flapjacks in an airtight container.
- They can be frozen for longer shelf life.
