Description

  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 celery stalks, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 4 cups cornbread, cubed
  • 1 cup sausage, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Rub the turkey with melted butter and Cajun seasoning.
  3. In a large pan, sauté onion, celery, and bell pepper until soft.
  4. In a large bowl, combine cornbread, sausage, sautéed vegetables, garlic powder, thyme, salt, and pepper.
  5. Stuff the turkey with the cornbread mixture.
  6. Place the turkey in a roasting pan and add chicken broth to the bottom.
  7. Roast the turkey for about 3-4 hours, basting occasionally.
  8. Check the internal temperature; it should reach 165°F (74°C).
  9. Let the turkey rest before carving.
