A flavorful twist on traditional Thanksgiving dishes with Cajun spices.

- 1 turkey (12-14 pounds)
- 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 celery stalks, chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 4 cups cornbread, cubed
- 1 cup sausage, cooked and crumbled
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Rub the turkey with melted butter and Cajun seasoning.
- In a large pan, sauté onion, celery, and bell pepper until soft.
- In a large bowl, combine cornbread, sausage, sautéed vegetables, garlic powder, thyme, salt, and pepper.
- Stuff the turkey with the cornbread mixture.
- Place the turkey in a roasting pan and add chicken broth to the bottom.
- Roast the turkey for about 3-4 hours, basting occasionally.
- Check the internal temperature; it should reach 165°F (74°C).
- Let the turkey rest before carving.
Notes
- Use a meat thermometer for best results.
- Adjust the spice level to your preference.
- Leftovers can be used in sandwiches or soups.
