- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 can kidney beans (15 oz)
- 1 can diced tomatoes (14.5 oz)
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large pot, brown the ground beef over medium heat.
- Add chopped onion and minced garlic. Cook until onion is translucent.
- Stir in chili powder and cumin, cooking for 1 minute.
- Add kidney beans and diced tomatoes to the pot.
- Season with salt and pepper, then stir well.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes.
- Serve hot.
Notes
- Adjust spice level by adding more chili powder.
- Top with shredded cheese or sour cream if desired.
- This dish can be made ahead and refrigerated for better flavor.
