Description
Delicious cherry bars perfect for Christmas gatherings.
Ingrédients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 can cherry pie filling
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, cream together the butter and sugar.
- Add egg and vanilla extract, mixing well.
- In another bowl, combine flour and baking powder.
- Gradually add flour mixture to the wet ingredients.
- Spread half of the batter in a greased 9×13 inch baking pan.
- Pour cherry pie filling over the batter.
- Drop remaining batter by spoonfuls on top of cherries.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
- Cool before cutting into squares.
Notes
- Store in an airtight container.
- Can be served warm or cold.
- Add powdered sugar on top for decoration.
