A delicious and festive treat combining toffee with Christmas crackers.

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 package saltine crackers (about 40 crackers)
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and arrange saltine crackers in a single layer.
  3. In a saucepan, melt butter and brown sugar over medium heat, stirring constantly until it comes to a boil.
  4. Pour the toffee mixture over the saltine crackers, spreading evenly.
  5. Bake in the oven for 10 minutes.
  6. Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle chocolate chips on top.
  7. Let the chocolate sit for a few minutes, then spread it evenly.
  8. If desired, sprinkle chopped nuts on top.
  9. Allow to cool completely before breaking into pieces.
