Description
A classic roast turkey with all the trimmings for a festive Christmas dinner.

- 1 whole turkey (12–14 lbs)
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 tablespoons salt
- 1 tablespoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 4 cups stuffing mix
- 2 cups celery, chopped
- 2 cups onion, chopped
- 1 cup cranberry sauce
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C).
- Remove giblets from turkey cavity and pat the turkey dry with paper towels.
- Rub the turkey with softened butter, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Stuff the turkey with the stuffing mix, celery, and onion.
- Place the turkey in a roasting pan and pour chicken broth around it.
- Cover the turkey with aluminum foil and roast for 2 to 2.5 hours.
- Remove the foil and roast for an additional 30-60 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Let the turkey rest for 20-30 minutes before carving.
- Serve with cranberry sauce on the side.
