- 1 whole turkey, 12-14 lbs
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 2 cups bread crumbs
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 celery stalks, chopped
- 1 cup dried cranberries
- 2 teaspoons sage
- 2 teaspoons thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 cups chicken broth
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
- Prepare the stuffing by sautéing onion and celery in butter.
- Add bread crumbs, cranberries, sage, thyme, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Stuff the turkey with the mixture and place in a roasting pan.
- Rub the turkey with butter and season with salt and pepper.
- Pour chicken broth into the pan.
- Roast for 3-4 hours, basting every hour.
- Check for doneness; internal temperature should reach 165°F (74°C).
- Let it rest for 20 minutes before carving.
