Description
A traditional dish for Christmas dinner featuring roasted goose.
Ingrédients

- 1 whole goose (about 10–12 pounds)
- 2 apples, quartered
- 2 onions, quartered
- 1 orange, quartered
- 4 cloves of garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup of chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon of dried thyme
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Clean the goose and remove any excess fat.
- Season the inside and outside of the goose with salt, pepper, and thyme.
- Stuff the cavity with apples, onions, and orange.
- Place the goose on a roasting rack in a roasting pan.
- Pour chicken broth into the pan.
- Roast for about 2-2.5 hours, basting every 30 minutes.
- Check the internal temperature; it should reach 165°F (74°C).
- Let it rest for 15-20 minutes before carving.
Notes
- Use a meat thermometer for accurate cooking.
- Goose fat can be saved for cooking.
- Serve with traditional sides like red cabbage and dumplings.
