- 2 cups almond flour
- 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 4 large egg whites
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Food coloring (red and green)
- 1 cup butter (softened)
- 2 cups powdered sugar (for frosting)
- 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
- In a bowl, sift almond flour and powdered sugar together.
- In another bowl, beat egg whites until soft peaks form.
- Gradually add granulated sugar and beat until stiff peaks form.
- Fold the almond mixture into the egg whites.
- Divide the mixture and add food coloring.
- Pipe the macarons onto a baking sheet.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes.
- Let cool completely.
- Make the filling by mixing butter, powdered sugar, and peppermint extract.
- Pipe filling onto half of the macarons and sandwich them.

- Ensure egg whites are at room temperature.
- Macarons can be stored in an airtight container.
- Let the macarons mature for a day for best flavor.
