  • Food coloring (red and green)
  • 1 cup butter (softened)
  • 2 cups powdered sugar (for frosting)
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. In a bowl, sift almond flour and powdered sugar together.
  3. In another bowl, beat egg whites until soft peaks form.
  4. Gradually add granulated sugar and beat until stiff peaks form.
  5. Fold the almond mixture into the egg whites.
  6. Divide the mixture and add food coloring.
  7. Pipe the macarons onto a baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes.
  9. Let cool completely.
  10. Make the filling by mixing butter, powdered sugar, and peppermint extract.
  11. Pipe filling onto half of the macarons and sandwich them.
