Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Mix in vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture, alternating with milk.
- Pour batter evenly into prepared pans.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cakes cool in pans for 10 minutes, then remove from pans and cool completely on wire racks.
- Decorate with frosting and sprinkles before serving.
