  • Powdered sugar for decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  3. In a bowl, cream butter and sugar until light.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.
  5. Stir in milk and vanilla.
  6. In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
  7. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients.
  8. Divide the batter into two bowls.
  9. Add red food coloring to one bowl and green to the other.
  10. Pour alternating colors into the prepared pans.
  11. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  12. Cool in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks.
  13. Decorate with powdered sugar before serving.
