Description

A festive layered dessert featuring sponge cake, custard, fruit, and whipped cream.


Ingrédients

  • 2 cups mixed berries
  • 2 cups vanilla custard
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup sherry
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Cut the sponge cake into cubes.
  2. Layer half of the cake in a trifle bowl.
  3. Drizzle half of the sherry over the cake.
  4. Add half of the mixed berries on top.
  5. Spread half of the custard over the berries.
  6. Repeat the layers with the remaining ingredients.
  7. Whip the heavy cream with sugar and vanilla until soft peaks form.
  8. Top the trifle with whipped cream and additional berries.
  9. Chill for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

  • Use a variety of berries for color.
  • Can substitute sherry with orange juice for a non-alcoholic version.
