Description

A classic roasted turkey recipe perfect for Christmas gatherings.


Ingrédients

  • 1 whole turkey (1214 lbs)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons salt
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 onion, quartered
  • 2 carrots, chopped
  • 2 celery stalks, chopped
  • Fresh herbs (rosemary, thyme, sage)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. Remove the turkey giblets and pat the turkey dry.
  3. Rub the softened butter all over the turkey, including under the skin.
  4. Season the turkey inside and out with salt and pepper.
  5. Stuff the cavity with onion, carrots, celery, and herbs.
  6. Place the turkey on a roasting rack in a roasting pan.
  7. Pour chicken broth into the bottom of the pan.
  8. Roast the turkey for about 3-4 hours, basting every 30 minutes.
  9. Check the internal temperature; it should reach 165°F (75°C).
  10. Let the turkey rest for 20-30 minutes before carving.
