Description

A traditional Christmas Yule Log cake made with chocolate sponge and buttercream.


Ingrédients

  • 100g granulated sugar
  • 70g all-purpose flour
  • 30g cocoa powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 200g unsalted butter
  • 200g powdered sugar
  • 200g dark chocolate
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Whisk eggs and granulated sugar until pale.
  3. Sift in flour, cocoa powder, and baking powder; fold gently.
  4. Spread batter in a lined baking tray.
  5. Bake for 15 minutes.
  6. Cool on a wire rack.
  7. Melt dark chocolate and let cool slightly.
  8. Beat butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla until creamy.
  9. Add melted chocolate and mix well.
  10. Spread buttercream on cooled sponge, roll it up carefully.
  11. Decorate with remaining buttercream.
  12. Chill before serving.
