Description
Copycat Whataburger Patty Melt is a deliciously satisfying classic burger made with beef, cheese, and grilled onions on Texas toast.

- 1 lb ground beef
- 4 slices American cheese
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 4 slices Texas toast
- 2 tbsp butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat a skillet over medium heat.
- Melt 1 tablespoon of butter and add the sliced onions. Cook until caramelized.
- In a separate pan, form the ground beef into 4 patties. Season with salt and pepper.
- Cook the patties in the skillet for 3-4 minutes on each side or until desired doneness.
- Top each patty with a slice of cheese and let it melt.
- Spread butter on one side of the Texas toast and place it butter-side down in the skillet.
- Add a patty with melted cheese and some caramelized onions on top of the toast.
- Top with another slice of Texas toast, butter-side up. Flip carefully and grill until golden brown.
- Repeat for remaining patties and serve hot.

- Use fresh onions for better flavor.
- Adjust cooking time for patties based on thickness.
