Description
A traditional Dominican Thanksgiving dinner featuring a variety of flavorful dishes.
Ingrédients

- 1 whole turkey (12–15 lbs)
- 2 cups of sour orange juice
- 4 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon of oregano
- 2 teaspoons of salt
- 1 teaspoon of black pepper
- 2 cups of rice
- 1 can of pigeon peas
- 1 cup of diced bell peppers
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1 cup of green beans
- 1 cup of mashed potatoes
- 1 loaf of bread
- 1 pumpkin pie
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Marinate the turkey with sour orange juice, garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper for at least 4 hours.
- Place the turkey in a roasting pan and cover it with foil.
- Roast the turkey for 3-4 hours, basting every hour.
- Cook the rice according to package instructions, adding pigeon peas and bell peppers.
- Sauté onions in olive oil, then add green beans and cook until tender.
- Prepare mashed potatoes as desired.
- Serve the turkey with rice, green beans, mashed potatoes, and bread.
- Finish the meal with pumpkin pie for dessert.
Notes
- Ensure the turkey is fully cooked before serving.
- You can substitute pigeon peas with black beans if preferred.
- Adjust seasoning to taste.
