Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, bring water and butter to a boil.
  2. Add flour and salt, stirring until the mixture forms a ball.
  3. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  4. Beat in eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Stir in vanilla.
  6. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F (190°C).
  7. Pipe the dough into a spiral shape into the hot oil.
  8. Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  9. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  10. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
