- 4 chicken breasts
- 2 large onions, sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 teaspoon thyme
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- 1 cup grated Gruyère cheese
Instructions
- Heat olive oil and butter in a pan over medium heat.
- Add sliced onions and cook until caramelized, about 15-20 minutes.
- Season chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and thyme.
- Push onions to the side and add chicken to the pan.
- Brown chicken on both sides for about 5 minutes each.
- Pour in beef broth and bring to a simmer.
- Cover and cook for 20 minutes.
- Sprinkle Gruyère cheese on top and cover until melted.
- Serve hot with onions and broth.
