A classic southern dessert made with fresh peaches and a buttery crust.
Ingrédients

- 4 cups fresh peaches, sliced
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix sliced peaches, 1/2 cup sugar, lemon juice, and vanilla extract. Set aside.
- In another bowl, combine flour, remaining sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Add milk and melted butter to the dry ingredients. Stir until just combined.
- Pour the batter into a greased baking dish.
- Spread the peach mixture over the batter.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
- Use ripe peaches for the best flavor.
- Can substitute with canned peaches if fresh are not available.
