Description
A rich and moist German chocolate poke cake, filled with coconut and pecan frosting.
Ingrédients

- 1 box German chocolate cake mix
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 3 large eggs
- 1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup shredded coconut
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Mix cake mix, water, oil, and eggs in a bowl.
- Pour batter into a greased 9×13 inch pan.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- While the cake bakes, prepare the frosting.
- In a saucepan, combine evaporated milk, sugar, butter, and vanilla over medium heat.
- Stir until the mixture thickens, about 10 minutes.
- Remove from heat and mix in coconut and pecans.
- Poke holes in the cooled cake with a fork.
- Pour frosting over the cake, allowing it to soak in.
- Chill for at least 1 hour before serving.
Notes
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator.
- This cake can be made a day ahead for better flavor.
