Description
Soft and fluffy gingerbread cinnamon rolls with a sweet icing.
Ingrédients

- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 2 teaspoons ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk (for icing)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix warm milk and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
- Add melted butter, brown sugar, molasses, egg, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Stir well.
- Gradually add flour and mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes.
- Place in a greased bowl and cover. Let rise for 1 hour.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle.
- Spread softened butter and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar.
- Roll the dough tightly and cut into rolls.
- Place rolls in a greased baking dish. Let rise for 30 minutes.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes.
- Mix powdered sugar and milk for icing and drizzle over warm rolls.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container.
- Can be frozen before baking.
- For extra flavor, add chopped nuts or raisins.
