Description

Soft and fluffy gingerbread cinnamon rolls with a sweet icing.


Ingrédients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 2 teaspoons ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk (for icing)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix warm milk and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
  2. Add melted butter, brown sugar, molasses, egg, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Stir well.
  3. Gradually add flour and mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes.
  5. Place in a greased bowl and cover. Let rise for 1 hour.
  6. Roll out the dough into a rectangle.
  7. Spread softened butter and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar.
  8. Roll the dough tightly and cut into rolls.
  9. Place rolls in a greased baking dish. Let rise for 30 minutes.
  10. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes.
  11. Mix powdered sugar and milk for icing and drizzle over warm rolls.

Notes

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container.
  • Can be frozen before baking.
  • For extra flavor, add chopped nuts or raisins.
