  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream butter and brown sugar until smooth.
  4. Add molasses, egg, and vanilla. Mix well.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients.
  6. Chill dough for 1 hour.
  7. Roll out dough and cut into house shapes.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes. Let cool.
  9. Assemble house with icing.
