Description
A hearty and flavorful ham bone soup made with vegetables and beans.
Ingrédients

- 1 ham bone
- 6 cups water
- 2 cups diced carrots
- 2 cups diced celery
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 2 cups diced potatoes
- 1 can (15 oz) white beans, drained and rinsed
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon thyme
- 1 bay leaf
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Add ham bone and water to a large pot.
- Bring to a boil and then reduce heat to simmer.
- Add carrots, celery, onion, and potatoes.
- Stir in white beans, garlic, thyme, and bay leaf.
- Simmer for 1.5 to 2 hours.
- Remove ham bone and let cool.
- Shred any remaining ham and return to soup.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Notes
- Use leftover ham for extra flavor.
- This soup freezes well.
- Add more vegetables as desired.
