Description
A hearty and flavorful ham bone soup that makes the most of leftover ham.
Ingrédients

- 1 ham bone
- 6 cups water
- 2 cups diced potatoes
- 1 cup chopped carrots
- 1 cup chopped celery
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon thyme
- 1 bay leaf
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Place the ham bone in a large pot.
- Add water and bring to a boil.
- Add potatoes, carrots, celery, onion, garlic, thyme, and bay leaf.
- Reduce heat to low and simmer for 1.5 to 2 hours.
- Remove the ham bone and let it cool.
- Shred the ham and return it to the pot.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Simmer for an additional 20 minutes.
- Serve hot.

- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- This soup freezes well for future meals.
