A rich and hearty homemade bolognese sauce perfect for pasta.
Ingrédients

- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 carrot, diced
- 1 celery stalk, diced
- 500g ground beef
- 200g canned tomatoes
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 cup red wine
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
- Add onion, garlic, carrot, and celery. Cook until softened.
- Add ground beef. Cook until browned.
- Stir in canned tomatoes and tomato paste.
- Add red wine and oregano. Season with salt and pepper.
- Simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Serve with your choice of pasta and garnish with fresh basil.
Notes
- Best if made a day ahead for flavors to meld.
- Can be frozen for up to three months.
