Description
A classic homemade eggnog recipe perfect for the holiday season.
Ingrédients

- 4 large eggs
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 cup rum (optional)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, beat the eggs until they are light and fluffy.
- Gradually add the sugar and continue to beat until well combined.
- In a saucepan, heat the milk and cream over medium heat until warm.
- Slowly whisk the warm milk mixture into the egg mixture.
- Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook over low heat until it thickens slightly.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla, nutmeg, and rum if using.
- Chill the eggnog in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
- Serve chilled, garnished with additional nutmeg if desired.
Notes
- Keep refrigerated and consume within 3 days.
- Adjust sweetness to taste by adding more or less sugar.
- For non-alcoholic version, omit the rum.
