  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon dried thyme
  • 1 tablespoon dried rosemary
  • 1 tablespoon dried sage

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. Remove the turkey from packaging and pat it dry with paper towels.
  3. Rub the softened butter all over the turkey, including under the skin.
  4. Season the turkey inside and out with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, rosemary, and sage.
  5. Place the turkey in a roasting pan and add chicken broth to the bottom of the pan.
  6. Cover the turkey with aluminum foil.
  7. Roast in the preheated oven for about 13-15 minutes per pound.
  8. Remove the foil for the last 30-45 minutes to allow the skin to brown.
  9. Check the internal temperature; it should reach 165°F (75°C) in the thickest part of the breast.
  10. Let the turkey rest for 20-30 minutes before carving.

Notes

  • Make sure the turkey is completely thawed before cooking.
  • Use a meat thermometer for accurate temperature reading.
  • For extra flavor, stuff the turkey with your favorite stuffing.
