A hearty and flavorful Louisiana seafood gumbo packed with shrimp, crab, and rich spices.
Ingrédients

- 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 lb crab meat
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 bell pepper, chopped
- 2 celery stalks, chopped
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 6 cups seafood stock
- 2 cups okra, sliced
- 2 tsp Cajun seasoning
- 1 tsp thyme
- 2 bay leaves
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooked rice for serving
Instructions
- Heat vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add flour and stir continuously to make a roux until it turns a dark brown color.
- Add onion, bell pepper, celery, and garlic; cook until soft.
- Pour in seafood stock and bring to a boil.
- Add okra, Cajun seasoning, thyme, bay leaves, salt, and pepper.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes.
- Add shrimp and crab meat; cook until shrimp are pink.
- Serve over cooked rice.

- Adjust spices to your taste.
- Use fresh seafood for best flavor.
- Gumbo can be made a day ahead for deeper flavor.
