Ingrédients
- Turkey – 1 (12-14 pounds)
- Butter – 1 cup, softened
- Salt – 2 tablespoons
- Pepper – 1 tablespoon
- Fresh herbs (rosemary, thyme, sage) – 1 cup, chopped
- Onions – 2, quartered
- Carrots – 2, chopped
- Celery – 2 stalks, chopped
- Chicken broth – 4 cups
- Stuffing – 1 batch, prepared
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
- Prepare the turkey by rubbing butter, salt, and pepper all over it.
- Stuff the turkey with prepared stuffing.
- Place the turkey in a roasting pan and surround it with onions, carrots, and celery.
- Add chicken broth to the pan.
- Roast the turkey, basting every 30 minutes, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
- Let the turkey rest for 30 minutes before carving.

- Use a meat thermometer for accuracy.
- Allow leftover turkey to cool before storing.
- Save bones for homemade broth.
