A delicious matcha dream cake with layers of matcha sponge and creamy frosting.

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup milk
- 4 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons matcha powder
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon matcha powder for frosting
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a bowl, cream together the butter and sugar.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Mix in milk and vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, combine flour, matcha powder, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
- Divide the batter between the prepared pans.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks.
- Whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar and matcha powder until soft peaks form.
- Layer the cakes with frosting in between and on top.
