  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped
  • 1 lemon, halved
  • 4 cups chicken broth

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. Remove the turkey giblets and pat the turkey dry with paper towels.
  3. Rub the softened butter all over the turkey, including under the skin.
  4. Season the turkey with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, rosemary, and thyme.
  5. Stuff the cavity with lemon halves.
  6. Place the turkey in a roasting pan and pour chicken broth around it.
  7. Cover the turkey with aluminum foil.
  8. Roast for about 3 hours, removing the foil for the last 30 minutes to brown.
  9. Check for doneness; the internal temperature should reach 165°F (74°C).
  10. Let the turkey rest for 20-30 minutes before carving.
