  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and cayenne.
  3. In another bowl, cream butter and brown sugar until smooth.
  4. Add egg and vanilla to the butter mixture, and mix well.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips.
  7. Drop dough by tablespoon onto baking sheets.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are firm.
  9. Let cool on sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.
