Description
A delicious baked ziti recipe that combines pasta, cheese, and a rich tomato sauce.

- 1 pound ziti pasta
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 4 cups marinara sauce
- 1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the ziti pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté for 1 minute.
- Add ground beef or sausage to the skillet. Cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add marinara sauce, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper to the meat. Stir and let simmer for 5 minutes.
- In a large bowl, combine cooked pasta, ricotta cheese, and half of the mozzarella cheese.
- Mix in the meat sauce until well combined.
- Transfer the mixture to a baking dish. Top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Feel free to add vegetables like spinach or mushrooms for extra flavor.
- This dish can be made ahead and frozen before baking.
