Description
A warm, spiced red wine drink perfect for winter.
Ingrédients

- 1 bottle of red wine (750 ml)
- 1 orange, sliced
- 1 lemon, sliced
- 1/4 cup honey or sugar
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 5 cloves
- 1 star anise
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients in a large pot.
- Heat over medium heat until steaming, but do not boil.
- Reduce heat and let simmer for 20-30 minutes.
- Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve.
- Serve warm in mugs.
Notes
- Adjust sweetness to taste.
- Try adding brandy for extra warmth.
- Can be made in a slow cooker on low heat.
