Ingrédients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 3/4 cups milk
  • 3 large egg yolks, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • whipped cream for topping

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, whisk together sugar, cocoa, cornstarch, and salt.
  2. Gradually add milk, stirring constantly over medium heat until thickened.
  3. Whisk a small amount of the hot mixture into the beaten egg yolks.
  4. Return the egg mixture to the saucepan, stirring constantly.
  5. Cook for another 2 minutes, then remove from heat.
  6. Stir in butter and vanilla until smooth.
  7. Pour filling into the pre-baked pie crust.
  8. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours.
  9. Top with whipped cream before serving.
