Description

A classic Canadian dessert with layers of chocolate, custard, and graham cracker.


Ingrédients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
  • 1 cup shredded coconut
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons custard powder
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 4 ounces semi-sweet chocolate
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

Instructions

  1. Melt 1/2 cup butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Add granulated sugar and cocoa powder, mixing well.
  3. Stir in graham cracker crumbs and shredded coconut until combined.
  4. Press mixture into a greased 8×8 inch pan.
  5. In a bowl, mix powdered sugar, custard powder, milk, and remaining 2 tablespoons butter until smooth.
  6. Spread custard mixture over the base layer.
  7. Melt chocolate and 2 tablespoons butter together until smooth.
  8. Pour chocolate over custard layer and spread evenly.
  9. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before cutting into squares.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate.
  • Store in the refrigerator for up to one week.
  • Cut with a sharp knife for clean edges.
