A themed cake inspired by The Nightmare Before Christmas.


Ingrédients

  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 batch buttercream frosting
  • Black and orange food coloring
  • Decorative fondant for characters

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  3. In a large bowl, mix dry ingredients.
  4. Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla. Beat until smooth.
  5. Stir in boiling water until well combined.
  6. Pour batter into prepared pans.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Let cakes cool in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks.
  9. Once cooled, frost the cakes with buttercream frosting.
  10. Use food coloring to tint frosting for decoration.
  11. Decorate with fondant characters from the movie.

  • Make sure the cake is completely cool before frosting.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container.
  • You can use store-bought fondant for easier decoration.
