  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, and water.
  2. Cook over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves.
  3. Bring to a boil without stirring until it reaches the hard ball stage (250°F).
  4. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and peppermint extract.
  5. Add food coloring and stir until evenly mixed.
  6. Pour onto a greased marble slab or baking sheet.
  7. Let cool slightly, then knead until smooth.
  8. Shape into small candies or cut into pieces.
  9. Dust with powdered sugar to prevent sticking.
