Description
A classic dish of pork and sauerkraut cooked together for a flavorful meal.
Ingrédients

- 2 pounds pork shoulder
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (14 ounces) sauerkraut, drained
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon caraway seeds
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
- Season the pork shoulder with salt and pepper.
- In a large oven-safe pot, heat oil over medium heat. Sear the pork on all sides until browned.
- Remove the pork and set aside. In the same pot, add onions and garlic; sauté until softened.
- Add sauerkraut, chicken broth, and caraway seeds to the pot. Stir to combine.
- Place the pork back into the pot, cover, and transfer to the oven.
- Bake for 2 to 3 hours, until the pork is tender.
- Slice and serve with sauerkraut.
Notes
- Serve with mashed potatoes for a complete meal.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- This dish can also be cooked in a slow cooker on low for 6-8 hours.
