  • 4 whole grain burger buns

  • 1 cup lettuce
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • Condiments of choice

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill or stovetop grill pan over medium heat.
  2. Clean the portobello mushrooms and remove the stems.
  3. In a bowl, mix olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Brush the mixture onto both sides of the mushrooms.
  5. Place the mushrooms on the grill and cook for 5-7 minutes per side.
  6. If using cheese, add a slice on top of each mushroom in the last minute of cooking.
  7. Toast the burger buns on the grill for 1-2 minutes.
  8. Assemble the burger with mushrooms, lettuce, tomato, and your favorite condiments.
