A delicious and healthy alternative to a traditional burger using portobello mushrooms.
Ingrédients

- 4 large portobello mushrooms
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
- 4 whole grain burger buns
- 4 slices of cheese (optional)
- 1 cup lettuce
- 1 tomato, sliced
- Condiments of choice
Instructions
- Preheat your grill or stovetop grill pan over medium heat.
- Clean the portobello mushrooms and remove the stems.
- In a bowl, mix olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Brush the mixture onto both sides of the mushrooms.
- Place the mushrooms on the grill and cook for 5-7 minutes per side.
- If using cheese, add a slice on top of each mushroom in the last minute of cooking.
- Toast the burger buns on the grill for 1-2 minutes.
- Assemble the burger with mushrooms, lettuce, tomato, and your favorite condiments.
Notes
- For added flavor, marinate mushrooms for 30 minutes before grilling.
- Serve with sweet potato fries for a complete meal.
- Use gluten-free buns for a gluten-free option.
