Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix olive oil, garlic, rosemary, thyme, salt, and pepper.
  3. Rub the mixture all over the prime rib roast.
  4. Place the roast in a roasting pan with the bone side down.
  5. Roast in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.
  6. Reduce the temperature to 325°F (163°C) and continue roasting for 1.5 to 2 hours, or until desired doneness.
  7. Let the roast rest for 20-30 minutes before slicing.
