Description
A classic prime rib roast recipe for the oven.

- 1 prime rib roast (5–7 pounds)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, chopped
- 2 tablespoons fresh thyme, chopped
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C).
- In a bowl, mix olive oil, garlic, rosemary, thyme, salt, and pepper.
- Rub the mixture all over the prime rib roast.
- Place the roast in a roasting pan with the bone side down.
- Roast in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.
- Reduce the temperature to 325°F (163°C) and continue roasting for 1.5 to 2 hours, or until desired doneness.
- Let the roast rest for 20-30 minutes before slicing.
Notes
- Use a meat thermometer for best results.
- Adjust cooking time based on the size of the roast.
- Let the roast come to room temperature before cooking.
