Ingrédients
- Prime rib roast – 5 pounds
- Salt – 2 tablespoons
- Black pepper – 1 tablespoon
- Garlic powder – 1 tablespoon
- Fresh rosemary – 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Olive oil – 2 tablespoons
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
- In a bowl, mix salt, pepper, garlic powder, and rosemary.
- Rub the olive oil over the prime rib roast.
- Coat the roast evenly with the spice mixture.
- Place the roast in a roasting pan bone-side down.
- Roast for 20 minutes at 450°F, then reduce the temperature to 325°F (165°C).
- Continue roasting for about 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 130°F (54°C) for medium rare.
- Remove from the oven and let it rest for 20 minutes before slicing.

- Use a meat thermometer for accurate results.
- Allowing the roast to rest helps retain juices.
